IPA: /ˌʌn.rɪˈsaɪ.klə.bəl/
KK: /ʌnˈriːsaɪkləbl/
Something that cannot be processed and reused in recycling programs.
Many plastic items are unrecyclable and end up in landfills.
Unrecyclable → It is formed from "un-" (meaning not), "re-" (meaning again), and "cyclable" (from "cycle" which comes from Greek "kyklos", meaning circle). The word "unrecyclable" means not able to be recycled or not able to be processed again into a new product.
Think of 'not' ('un-') being able to be 'processed again' ('re-') into a 'circle' ('cycle') — that's why unrecyclable means it cannot be recycled.
